Happy Monday everyone. I hope everyone's having a great week so far. Here in Ohio the sun is shinning. We're experiencing our first real taste of summer with highs in the upper 80's and high humidity. This is one of those times when I'm glad I work inside and not out in the hot sun.
Finding Anna Book 4 is still a work in progress. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm hoping that will happen in the very near future. I'm over 127K right now, and I know I still have several chapters to go. Finding writing time is going to be difficult for the rest of the week since I'm flying to Colorado Springs for RomCon Thursday, but I'm taking my laptop with me so hopefully I'll get something accomplished.
Speaking of RomCon...a reminder that I will be signing Friday afternoon from 4:30 - 5:45. I will have all my books with me, including some copies of Season of Love which includes my Christmas short story A Christmas Proposal.
I will be giving away 3 copies of my debut novel, Hidden Threat, at RomCon, and so as not to leave those unable to attend out, I will also be running a giveaway here on my blog for 3 ecopies of Hidden Threat. Make sure you stop back on Thursday to enter. There will be ways to promote the post in order to have more chances to win.

Sneak Peek Sunday - Lindsey Gray
“Fireworks” is a Contemporary
Romance novella by Lindsey Gray, author of "Lies Inside", "Redemption", "Revisited", and "Not the Same Season". This eBook exclusive will be released June 20th,
2013.
Sophie
McKibbin finds herself back in Sam Crawford’s life after ten years.
Unfortunately, Sam is dating Lola, Sophie’s high school nemesis. Lola dumps Sam
the day before he was supposed to introduce his mystery girlfriend to his
family over the Fourth of July holiday. With the looming fear of disappointing
his mother once again and his long held feelings for Sophie, he asks her to
take Lola’s place. With family feuds, an old flame, and feelings that have been
locked away for a decade, there is bound to be some fireworks.
Excerpt
Sam was waiting
patiently for the barista to make his drink with two extra shots of espresso
when he heard the tinkling laughter of two nurses ordering their own coffees.
He turned to see
what all the fuss was about. The tall, dark haired nurse was showing the
slightly shorter, brunette friend something on her cell phone.
“Two venti cafe
mochas, please,” the tall one ordered.
“Venti, Lexi? I’m
going to have such a sugar high by the time I get to the bottom of the cup.”
The other one laughed.
Sam noticed
something familiar about the brunette nurse at that moment and her voice
confirmed it. For years, he’d dreamed of long, wavy brown hair, a pair of bright
blue eyes, and heart shaped lips. Sam couldn’t believe it’d been almost ten
years since he last saw her in his parents’ kitchen. There was no thought in what
he did next, he acted on pure instinct.
“Why, if it isn’t
little Miss Sophie McKibbin.”
Sophie turned her
head in his direction, and a soft smile spread across her lips when she
giggled. “Mr. Sam Crawford. Fancy meeting you here.”
Lexi looked
between the smiling pair with confusion. “Someone fill me in, please?”
“Sorry, Lexi. Sam,
this is my best friend and roommate Lexi Carter. Lexi, this is Sam Crawford.
He’s from Halston, too, and happens to be the brother of my cousin’s wife,”
Sophie explained.
“Well, that
explains the greeting. I guess the two of you didn’t know you worked in the
same hospital?” Lexi asked.
Sophie looked at
him in surprise. “You work here?”
Sam rubbed the
back of his neck nervously. He never imagined he would be so uncomfortable in
Sophie’s presence, but she’d grown even more beautiful since he last saw her.
“Yes. I’m one of
the evening hospital administrators. I’m assuming you two are part of our top
notch nursing staff?”
“Yes, in the intensive
care unit,” Sophie responded.
“You must be the
team Dr. Thomas has been bragging about.” Sam was stuck smiling as he gazed
into her crystal-blue eyes. “We should all go out for a drink sometime.”
“Sounds great,”
Sophie replied.
Sam dug his
business card out of his pocket and wrote on the back. “This is my office
number, but my cell is on the back.”
“Thanks.” Sophie’s
cheeks reddened as she took the card from him.
“See you later.”
He lifted his coffee cup to the two before he left the cafeteria.
Lexi grasped
Sophie by the elbow and forced her into a nearby booth. “I need details. Who is
that sex-on-a-stick, and why have I never met him before?”
Sophie shook her
head as memories of a younger Sam flooded her mind. The years had been very kind to him in her
opinion. He was over six feet tall, with what appeared to be a lean yet muscled
body. His light brown hair looked like it needed a trim, but was incredibly
sexy at the same time. Like her own were, his eyes were blue, yet they seemed
hold a sparkle she’d never seen before when he smiled.
“His younger sister and I were friends in high
school. Sam was in college at that time, so I didn’t see much of him, but when
I did . . .” Sophie got a faraway look in her eyes.
“You liked him!”
Lexi smacked Sophie’s hand that lay on the table between them.
“Yep, I fell hard.
I admit there was a bit of flirting, but nothing ever came of it.” Sophie ran
her fingertips over her warm cheeks. “I thought I might see him a bit more once
Caroline and my cousin, Drew, started dating, but he was working somewhere out
east. Then I started dating Josh, and you know how that turned out.” Her
relationship with Josh Reynolds had been a complete disaster, dictating how she
had spent the last several years of her life.
“It’s time to get
back on the horse, so to speak. I’m sure that cowboy wouldn’t mind a ride.”
Sophie laughed,
but deep down in the dirty recesses of her mind, she could picture it
happening.

Lindsey Gray dreamed of being
several different things as a child such as a doctor, an actress, and a chef,
but none held her attention like putting pen to paper and creating her own
world through words. She has written three full-length novels and one
short story for The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House and is now taking the
self-publishing leap with her novella, "Fireworks".
A mid-west native, Lindsey enjoys
spending time with her husband and two children, reading almost anything she
can get her hands on, and making life interesting at each and every turn.

“I’m so glad I found you. You have no idea
what it took for me to find you,
baby girl.”
His words echoed in my ears as I stood there
staring. He was here. He was really here. I was frozen, unable to move. I
needed to get away. Away from him. Away from here.
Red! screamed
in my head but refused to come out of my mouth. It was as if I’d suddenly
swallowed a mouthful of cotton. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t speak. Fear took
over. My chest tightened, making it harder to breathe.
I stumbled backward, still trying to speak, but
nothing would come out. I had to get away. Stephan. I needed Stephan.
As I moved farther into the living room, he
followed me. He was like a giant, filling the space. I’d always thought
Stephan’s place was large, but now it felt very small as John stalked toward
me. The panic continued to rise, but I fought it. Breathe. Remember to breathe. Stephan. Think about Stephan.
Oxygen tore through my lungs with every intake of
air. I was breathing, but it wasn’t doing its job. It wasn’t calming me. My
father had come for me.
Every step I took, he matched and then some. I
couldn’t get away. He was bigger, stronger. Why? Why was he here? What did he
want with me?
Turning my back on him for the first time, I ran
toward the phone. I stumbled over the coffee table on my way and righted myself.
I knew he was close, but I had to try. I had to try to call Stephan.
My hands trembled as I picked up the phone. I didn’t
get any further than that. Before my fingers could touch the keys, he snatched
the phone out of my hands, tossing it to the floor behind him.

Cover Reveal of Indivisible Line by Lorenz Font
Cover Reveal for Indivisible Line, Release Date: July 15, 2013!
Summary:
Pre-med student Sarah Jones is back in Beaver, Alaska, for summer vacation. A loyal member of the Gwich’in tribe, she accepts the rules set by her father, the leader of their small town. Raised in a strict household, she learned early on to do what is expected of her and has agreed to an arranged marriage. Despite her reluctance to marry without love, Sarah is unwilling to defy her father’s wishes. She hopes to help usher in an era of independence and stability for the town, but for now, her focus is finishing med school so she can become Beaver’s resident doctor.
Business owner Greg Andrews wants to escape his philandering wife and his life in general. Leaving New York City to join a hunting expedition in Alaska, Greg’s plans are turned upside down when he is shot on Gwich’in land and ends up on Sarah’s operating table. In the absence of a qualified doctor, Sarah must operate to save his life. She refuses to wait for the consent of their tribal leader, and her father banishes her from the tribal land in punishment.
Grateful for his life, Greg concocts a scheme to help. Plagued by the side effects of her unconventional operation, he convinces Sarah to become his live-in nurse. Without the means to support herself, Sarah agrees to the questionable arrangement, but she soon finds herself in even more trouble. Her new problem is that she is falling in love with this infuriating man, and the choices she now must make are must more difficult than the simple act of saving a man’s life.
Together, Sarah and Greg must both decide whether they can overcome the vast differences between them, or if the indivisible line that separates their worlds will ultimately pull them apart.

Flash Fiction Friday - June 14, 2013
This week's picture is from Stockvault.
The model stood with one arm above her head, and the other
covering her right nipple. She was turned to the side, to showcase the large
tattoo. The guys in the room were drooling, and I was sure it had nothing to do
with the ink she displayed.
All I could think about, however, was the pain. I was not a
fan of needles, so I couldn’t imagine laying there for who knows how long to
have that kind of work done. A shiver ran down my spine thinking about it.
“All right class. Enough observation. Let’s get to drawing.”

Weekly Update - June 10, 2013
Happy Monday everyone!
Yeah, I'm really not that cheery today, but I'm trying. That has to count, right?
It's my first full day home from Lori Foster's RAGT, and I'm still exhausted. It was a great time, but I can't imagine how tired I'm going to be after the RN Con in Las Vegas. Lori's event is only 2 days, not even really. RN Con is 5 full days. I think I might need someone to cart me to the air port when it's over. LOL.
Okay, so enough of that. Let's get to some writing. Honestly, not much got done last week. I did finish another chapter, and polished two others, but that was about it. Thursday I spent packing for the weekend, and then I was gone Friday, Saturday, and half of Sunday. I did hit the 120K mark last week in Finding Anna, Book 4. I'm crossing my fingers that I can finish the book up in another 20K, but I'm not making any promises at this point. I will write until I feel that the story is done. Simple as that.
Look what I got in the mail today. :)
Truth is only 45 days away!
Pre-orders will start on the TWCS website on June 24th. If you pre-order your copy within the first two weeks, it will included a signed book plate from me, and they are going to ship them out a week early so you might just get your hands on your copy before its available to the general public. Who is loving that?
On to this weekend...
I arrived Friday afternoon, and everything was already in full swing. The event didn't technically start until 3pm, but I found out later that most people came Wednesday or Thursday. It almost reminds me of a reunion of sorts. Many of the same people come year after year, and it's great seeing people you met the year before.
The main ballroom where everyone gathers for meals and the notorious raffles. RAGT raised over $13,000 for the One Way Farm for kids this year toping the $10,000 donation last year.
I met up with several members of my street team at the event. Here we all are together. Thank you ladies for helping to promote my books!
Friday night I sat beside author Duffy Brown. She is one of the co-organizers of the event, and very down to earth. I was lucky enough to be on a panel with her last month at the Ohioana Book Festival. She writes cozy mysteries.
Friday I was also able to meet author C.L. Parker. C.L. and I signed on with TWCS around the same time. She is the author of Supernova, Nexus, and Cataclysm, and she will be releasing a new novel in August through Random House.
Friday night was my book signing, and I ran into a reader I met last year. Mahlet and I sat together for breakfast on Sunday morning at the 2012 RAGT. She ended up walking out with me to my vehicle, and buying a copy of Slave. She's now hooked on the series, and she'd brought books from a friend for me to sign along with a copy of Need she'd bought. It was great seeing her again.
Saturday morning a group of us were sitting around relaxing and talking books. Author Donna McMeans joined us, and I gracious enough to pause for a moment from signing a reader t-shirt to pose for this picture. Donna and I shared a table at this year's Ohioana Book Festival. She writes historical romances.
